Pharmacy accused of providing incorrect prescription

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man claims his prescription drug company filled the wrong prescription which resulted in injuries.

Giuseppe Cicciotto filed suit against Optumrx in the New Orleans Civil District Court on June 14.

Cicciotto claims he was forced to use Medical Solutions by United Healthcare as their in-network specialty pharmacy provider. Four months after switching to Medical Solutions the plaintiff claims he discovered a rise in his mean corpuscular volume. Cicciotto allegedly found that the prescription given to him by Medical Solutions did not match that ordered by his doctor.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for infliction of emotional distress, pain and suffering, mental anguish and medical expenses.

Cicciotto is represented by Richard G. Perque of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarusso.
