NEW ORLEANS – A salesman has filed a lawsuit against his employer in an attempt to obtain unpaid overtime wages.

Craig J. Louque Jr. filed suit against Fire Protection Services Inc. of Texas on July 17 in federal court in New Orleans.

Louque worked for the defendant from Aug. 29, 2009 through Feb. 17, 2012 as an inside salesman in the marine division. He states that he routinely worked in excess of 40 hours per week but was not paid any overtime wages. For the purposes of calculating overtime wages, Louque’s hourly wage includes both his salary compensation and his commission compensation.

The defendant is accused of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The plaintiff is seeking damages for all unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, penalty wages, court costs, and attorney’s fees.

Louque is represented by James K. Sticker III of Leefe, Gibbs, Sullivan, Dupre & Aldous in Metairie. A jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo is assigned to the case.
