GRETNA – A former NBA player residing in Jefferson Parish man is suing a sports management agency for allegedly withholding contract fees he was to receive as part of his association with a current NBA player.
Randy Livingston filed suit against Impact Sports Basketball, LLC, Mitchell Frankel, Brian S. Elfus and Michael B. Siegel in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 26. Livingston claims that in 2006 he entered into a contract with Impact Sports Basketball to handle negotiations, marketing and other related matters for Tyrus Thomas and other clients.
The plaintiff alleges he was to be paid yearly one-third of fees paid to the defendants through Thomas’s contract and was paid $66,115.71 for the 2010-2011 season, but for the 2011-2012 season he was only paid $7,714 of the $56,731.31 that was owed to him.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $56,731.31 are sought by the plaintiff.
Livingston is represented by Gilbert V. Andry of the New Orleans-based the Andry Law Firm.
The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robert A. Pitre.
Case no. 720-574.
