Joyce F. Henderson filed suit against Dr. Vinod Dasa, Stryker Corporation and Stryker Sales Corporation in the 24th Judicial District Court. Henderson claims that she received a Triathlon knee implant designed and produced by Stryker Corporation and implanted by Dasa. The plaintiff alleges that knee replacement was defective and she was injured after normal use and wear and tear on the implant.
The defendant is accused of failing to provide adequate testing of the knee system, failing to fully disclose the results, failing to provide a full range of possible problems that occur within the system, failing to inspect and manufacture a durable knee system and failing to inspect and manufacture a knee system that could be safely implanted.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain her muscles, knee pain, inability to stand and walk, loosening of the replacement knee, mental pain and suffering and emotional injuries.
