Southland Steel Fabricators Inc. sued by sub-contractor over payment on Monsanto project

GRETNA – A Metairie company is suing a Greensburg-based industrial contractor for breach of contract.

Dupont Resources Inc. filed suit against Southland Steel Fabricators Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 20.

Dupont Resources Inc. claims that between December 2011 and February 2012 it provided sandblasting, preparation and paint work on a scrubber being built for Monsanto by Southland Steel Fabricators Inc. The plaintiff alleges it invoiced the defendant for services performed in the amount of $21,046.95 on Feb. 2, 2012, but was never paid.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $21,046.95 plus interest, penalties and costs.

Dupont Resources Inc. is represented by Lawrence R. Demarcay III of New Orleans-based Fowler Rodriguez Valdes-Fauli.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Ross P. LaDart.

Case no. 724-103.
