A Mercedes-Benz dealer is being sued by a customer who leased an allegedly defective car

Sileo john d

GRETNA – A local car dealer is being sued by a woman who claims that a car she leased from them was defective.

Patricia K. Farris filed suit against BIJ LA LLC, Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge and Mercedes-Benz USA LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 16.

Farris claims she leased a new Mercedes-Benz ML-350 from Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge on April 20, 2010. The plaintiff alleges that was defective and she would have not leased it if she had known at the time. Farris asserts the defects came to a head when she was stalled on the side of the road and the defendants could not fix the vehicle despite repeated attempts. The plaintiff claims the vehicle presented a danger to her and other passengers.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for a return of all monies paid, attorney’s fees, costs and repairs necessitated to the vehicle and other damages allowed under the Louisiana Lemon Law Statute.

Farris is represented by attorney John D. Sileo of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

Case no. 730-004.
