GRETNA – A local buffet is being sued by a customer who claims to have been seriously injured in a fall in a puddle of water.
Marion Bertaut filed suit against Corral Gulfsouth Inc. and James River Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 26.
Bertaut asserts that she was a customer at the Golden Corral located at 3920 Williams Blvd. in Kenner and was walking to her table carrying her food when she slipped in a puddle of water and fell to the floor. The plaintiff alleges that she was seriously injured in the incident.
The defendant is accused of failing to give warnings of the dangerous condition, failing to properly inspect and maintain the area, failing to warn of inherent dangers, failing to do what was necessary to keep floor dry and clean, failing to provide a safe service area, failing to properly supervise and instruct employees to discover and reedy defects and allowing a hazardous condition to exist.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental pain and anguish, physical disability, physical disfigurement and scarring and loss of enjoyment of life.
