Brother’s Food Mart sued over customer’s alleged injuries from fall

GRETNA – A gas station customer is suing after she was allegedly injured in a slip and fall on their premises.

Patricia Frickey filed suit against Brothers Food Mart in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 9.

Frickey alleges that she was a customer at the Brother’s Food Mart located at 1944 Belle Chases Highway in Gretna on Oct. 3, 2014 when she slipped and fell on a foreign substance on the floor. The plaintiff contends that she received injuries in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to discover a dangerous condition, failing to correct an unreasonably dangerous condition, failing to warn guests of an unreasonable danger, failing to maintain the premises, allowing an unreliable condition to exist and disregarding the safety of others.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for bodily injuries, pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and permanent disability.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
