Mom sues after child injured on Chuck E Cheese ride

A mother claiming her child suffered severe head and neck injuries on an amusement ride at Chuck E. Cheese in Metairie is suing CEC Entertainment, Inc.

Julia Beaudine claims her child's head became wedged between a moving part and stationary part of an amusement ride while attending a birthday party on Feb. 9, 2009.

According to Beaudine's suit that was originally filed in Jefferson Parish, Chuck E. Cheese failed to properly supervise her child. The suit was removed to federal court in New Orleans on March 16.

Beaudine is seeking damages for mental and physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, emotional distress, impairment of the ability to enjoy life's pleasures, medical expenses, loss of earning capacity, and post-judgment interest.

New Orleans attorney Laurence Cohen is representing the plaintiff. The defendant is requesting a jury trial.

U.S. District Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon is assigned to the litigation.
