A couple is suing a popular New Orleans airboat swamp tour company after they suffered injuries while on a tour, according to a suit filed in Orleans Parish District Court on March 5.
Filed on behalf of Wendy and Ronald Bunner of South Carolina by attorney Gilbert Andry IV of New Orleans, the suit claims the couple "suffered physical and mental injuries" after the airboat hit a patch of mud and "came to an immediate and complete stop" while on an airboat tour with Airboat Adventures LLC on June 4, 2009.
The suit claims that Ronald Bunner's "left knee then struck a metal bar on the back side of the seat" and was "eventually thrown out of the airboat, and landed on his back left side." It also states that Wendy Bunner hit "her right hand and right knee" and that she "hit her left elbow on the floor of the airboat."
The list of damages detailed in the suit include "past, present and future physical pain and suffereing" and "past, present and future loss of earnings...[and] earning capacity". The suit pleads that Airboat Adventures LLC is liable "for all acts of negligence" that led to the accident.
According to its Web site, Airboat Adventures provides "private swamp or plantation tours, sunset tours, guided duck hunts, alligator hunts" and transportation from New Orleans to excursion sites.
