Plaintiff seeks refund on Electrolux stove; Seeks relocation costs while new one installed
A Louisiana resident has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturers of a stove which he claims is defective.
Frederick R. Heebe filed suit against Electrolux Professional Inc. and Molteni Company on Sept. 20 in federal court in New Orleans.

Heebe claims he learned the stoves/ovens were defective immediately upon attempting to use them. Specifically, at each of the surface burners, the standing pilot flames intermittently extinguish.
The pilot flames do not re-light without an unreasonable amount of effort, the lawsuit states. Further, Heebe complains that the double-electric oven fails by improperly heating, temperature settings are not marked on gas oven knobs, takes an improper amount of time for the "French top" to heat to a usable temperature, its char-grill has varying temperatures and pilot lights generate too much heat.
Heebe states all the defects were latent and non-apparent that it was impossible to be aware of the defects until the stoves were fully installed.
He states the stoves are useless or in the alternative, they are so inconvenient that no reasonable person would have purchased them.
The defendant attempted to repair the stoves but the attempts were unsuccessful, Heebe claims.
He is asking for an award of the purchase price of the stoves and ovens, costs of installing, uninstalling and removing the stoves, cost of relocating to a comparable home while a new stove and oven are installed, reimbursement of the cost for food preparation that he otherwise would not have had to incur had the stoves operated properly, non-pecuniary damages, attorneys' fees, court costs and interest.
