Woman sues popular New Orleans restaurant after slipping in bathroom

A Jefferson Parish woman is suing Mother's Restaurant in New Orleans and its insurer after she allegedly slipped on a large amount of water on the floor.

Debra Morales filed a petition for damages against Mother's and Southern Underwriters Insurance on June 8.

The suit claims Mother's acted negligent in failing to instruct its employees to place signs to warn patrons of the dangerous floor conditions,failing to use ordinary care in the maintenance of the premises to invitees and business patrons, among other allegations.

As a result of the fall, Morales allegedly suffered a left elbow and shoulder injury, wrist, and hand injuries as well as injuries to both knees, neck pain, and mid and lower back pain.

Morales also claims to have incurred medical expenses and suffered mental pain and anguish and loss of enjoyment of life.

New Orleans attorneys Daniel Pick, Mark Wolfe, Michael Begoun and Nancy Silbert filed the lawsuit in Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

This case has been assigned to Orleans Parish Judge Herbert Cade.
