Harrah's being sued over woman's slip and fall on marble flooring

Roy D'Aquila

A Jefferson Parish woman is suing after she allegedly slipped and fell at the New Orleans Harrah's Casino.

Taslin P. Alfonzo filed suit against Caesar's Entertainment Operating Company and Harrah's New Orleans in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Dec. 14. Alfonzo claims she was injured when she slipped on a liquid and fell onto a marble floor. She is claiming injuries including bruises, soft tissue damage to the neck and back and serious bodily injury to her thigh, knee, foot and ankle.

The plaintiff claims the defendants were negligent in inspecting the floor, failing to maintain the floor in a safe condition, failing to warn about hazard and defective construction and design of the premises.

The case was filed on behalf of Alfonzo by Roy M. D'Aquila, of Kenner-based D'Aquila, Volk, Mullins and Contreras.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
