Man sues employer for bounced checks

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man is suing is suing his former employer for unpaid wages stemming from bounced payroll checks.

Robert Fox filed suit on Jan. 24 in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court against RTC Providers and its owners Cheronne Smith and Kim C. Hilliard.

Fox claims he was employed as a licensed social worker and clinical director for the defendants when part of his wages and the wages of other employees went unpaid. The plaintiff claims multiple paychecks bounced over nearly a two-year period from October 2009 to July 2011.

The plaintiff is seeking $33,052 in net pay he claims he is owed by the defendants.

Fox is being represented by Terrytown-based attorney Alan F. Kansas.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Michael G. Bagneris.
