Developer being sued for not paying for work done on New Orleans Exchange Center

NEW ORLEANS – A number of contractors and subcontractors are suing a New Orleans developer for overdue bills.

A coalition of plaintiffs including Supreme Commercial Contracting, Supreme Restoration LLC, A&A Mechanical, Martinez Professional Drywall, Prestige Flooring Company, R.C.I.S. Incorporated and Zinsel Glass and Mirror filed suit on Feb. 3 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Kingfish Development.

The plaintiffs claim they provided reconstruction services for the defendant on multiple levels of the skyscraper between August 2010 and October 2011. The plaintiffs allege Kingfish stopped making payments in April 2011.

Damages in the amount of the unpaid bills of $262,391 plus interests and costs are requested.

The plaintiffs are being represented by New Orleans-based attorney Timothy G. Schafer and Lafayette-based attorney Michael I. Rodriguez.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
