Tattoo artist sues over alleged attack by boss
NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man is suing for injuries he claims to have suffered in a physical altercation with his boss.
Henry Scoggins filed suit on March 2 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Joseph Costa, Forbidden Art, LLC and their insurers.
Scoggins claims he was working at Forbidden Art when the manager of the business Joseph Costa confronted him over entries into the tattoo art log.
The plaintiff alleges he exited the premises and was punched in the face by Costa when he was not looking. Scoggins asserts the attack resulted in severe and disabling injuries to his face and eye including fractured bones. The plaintiff claims he did not provoke the defendant into attacking him.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for disfigurement, loss of enjoyment of life, medical evaluations, treatment and medical expenses.
Scoggins is being represented by John A. Venezia of New Orleans-based Venezia & Venezia.
The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
