DONALDSONVILLE – An Ascension Parish woman is suing a Prairieville flea market claiming she was injured in a fall in its parking lot.

Lois Bryant filed suit on May 14 against The Flea Market of Louisiana LLC and its insurer. Bryant claims she was walking through a gravel parking lot on her way into the building when she stepped into a crevice formed between the cement slab of the building and the parking lot and fell. The injuries alleged by the plaintiff are not listed in the filing.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the premises in a safe condition, creating an unreasonably dangerous condition, failing to warn plaintiff of danger, not taking steps to remediate the hazard, failing to inspect the area and not blocking off the area.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for personal injuries, pain and suffering, lost wages, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses.

Bryant is represented by Baton Rouge-based attorney W. Paul Wilkins.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Thomas Kliebert, Jr.

Case number 103713.
