Treasure Chest Casino sued by man who bumped head on monitor

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is suing a local casino for injuries he claims occurred on the premises.

Michael Zuppardo filed suit on June 6 against Treasure Chest Casino, LLC and Boyd Gaming Corporation.

Zuppardo claims he was playing Baccarat at the casino when he turned his head to look at a nearby monitor screen and struck his head. The plaintiff alleges injuries to the right side of his head, neck, headaches, right arm and numbness and tingling in his fingers.

The defendant is accused of placing the monitor too close enough to the table to create an inherent danger, failing to keep a proper lookout and placing the monitor in a place that could reasonably cause harm to nearby players.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for professional physician services, prescription medications, pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, pain and suffering and medical expenses.

Zuppardo is represented by attorney S. Michael Cashio of Kenner.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen S. Kovach.

Case number 715656.
