Jack in the Box corporate headquarters sued by man in local slip and fall

DONALDSONVILLE – A Destrehan man is suing a national food chain for injuries he claims to have received in a fall at a Gonzales location.

Christopher Urich filed suit against Jack in the Box, Inc., Jack in the Box Eastern Division and their insurers in the 23rd Judicial District Court on June 28. Urich claims he was entering the Jack in the Box located at 2123 West Highway 30 in Gonzales when he slipped and fell on water or some other foreign substance. The plaintiff alleges that he received multiple injuries in the fall.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to adequately inspect and maintain the premises, failing to timely remedy a known hazard, creating and maintaining a hazardous condition, violating applicable standards of care, failing to warn of the hazard, failing to properly supervise employees, failing to adopt appropriate safety features and guidelines, allowing a defect on the premises and violating state laws.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental and emotional pain and suffering, aggravation and lost wages,

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Jessie LeBlanc.
