Jefferson Parish-based Favalora Constructors, Inc. sued for alleged non-payment

GRETNA – An Ohio-based construction materials manufacturer is suing a Jefferson Parish-based construction group for alleged non-payment.

The Hollaender Manufacturing Co. filed suit against Favalora Constructors, Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court against on July 13. The Hollaender Manufacturing Co. claims that on May 17, 2011 Favalora ordered numerous materials for a construction project they were undertaking at Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner for a total price of $45,210.35.

The plaintiff alleges that 15 percent of the bill was to be paid at the time of order and the rest would be paid within 30 days, however, the outstanding balance of $32,340 allegedly remains unpaid despite demand by the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of breaching the contract by not paying its complete balance in a timely manner.

Damages in the amount of the remaining balance plus legal interest and attorney's fees is requested by the plaintiff.

The Hollaender Manufacturing Co. is represented by Keith L. Magness of Gretna-based the Law Office of Keith Magness, LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division B judge Cornelius E. Regan.
