GRETNA – A New Orleans woman is suing a local law enforcement agency and one of its officers claiming their negligence led to her injuries in a car accident.

Tekana Gainer filed suit against Nicholas Buttone and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office in the 24th Judicial District on July 16. An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, injuries to her body, loss of enjoyment of life and lost wages.

Gainer is represented by Joseph E. Windmeyer, Jr. of the Metairie-based Windmeyer Law Firm, LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.

Case no. 717-110.
