Salon sued by woman claiming she was stunned by blow to head from 'color dome'

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing a local hair salon for injuries she claims to have received on its premises.

Lillian A. Busse filed suit against Kenneth's Hair Studio, Kenneth's Garden District LLC and their insurer in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 26.

Busse claims on July 28, 2011 she had her hair done at Kenneth's located at 2100 St. Charles Ave. in New Orleans. The plaintiff alleges that she had her head under a color dome and a worker at the salon lifted the dome and asked her to go the hair washing station. Busse asserts that the color dome did not lock and fell on her head stunning her. The plaintiff claims no one assisted her after the blow to her head and she walked into a wall and injured her hand.

The plaintiff further claims that the injury has made daily task such as holding a pen, brushing her hair and brushing her teeth very difficult as well as costing her $12,000 in medical bills.

The defendant is accused of not locking the device to keep it form from falling on the plaintiff's head and not assisting her after the first injury which resulted in the second injury.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering and medical bills.

Busse is represented by Miles G. Trapolin of the New Orleans-based Trapolin Law Firm.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
