New Orleans bar and grill sued by former grill cook for alleged defamation of character

NEW ORLEANS - A former grill cook at a New Orleans bar is suing the bar and it's owner for alleged defamation of character.

Reginald Wright filed a lawsuit against Bourbon Heat Club Inc. LLC and owner Angello Ferrell in the Orleans Parish Central District court on Aug. 2. Wright's employment was terminated by Bourbon Heat based on alleged sexual harassment of female co-workers and female guests. Wright claims all allegations are false and malicious.

The defendant is accused of defaming the plaintiff's character by falsely alleging he sexually harassed female employees and guests.

Damages in the amount of $100.000 is sought for damages including, loss of wages and pain and suffering. The plaintiff is also requesting a restraining order requiring the defendants to stop telling potential employers in the New Orleans area (French Quarter or any other region of New Orleans) or any other area in the United States that he was fired for sexual harassment.

The plaintiff is representing himself in the case.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
