River Birch sues Baton Rouge construction company over B.W. Cooper Housing demolition

NEW ORLEANS - A Jefferson Parish waste services company is suing a Baton Rouge Construction Co. for alleged breach of contract.

River Birch Inc. filed a lawsuit against V. Crosby Construction Company L.L.C. in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Aug 8, alleging that after meeting its end of a contractual agreement with the defendant payment was not rendered.

The defendant is accused of owing the petitioner the full sum of $72,298.25 for accepting and disposing of waste from the defendant's demolition of the housing project.

River Birch is seeking full compensation in the amount of $72,298.25 plus late fees in the amount of three percent of the total sum due, counting from July 20, 2008 to date of judicial demand, cost of attorney fees and all other costs found reasonable.

The plaintiff is represented by John H. Thomas, Jr. of D'Aquila, Mullins, & Contreras.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
