Phil's Grill in Harahan sued in slip and fall

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing a local restaurant for injuries she allegedly received in a fall on its premises.

Tasha D. Palermo filed suit against Phil's Grill Harahan, LLC and State National Insuracne Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 26. Palermo claims she was dining at Phil's Grill located at 1640 Hickory Ave. in Harahan when as she was walking from her table to the restroom through the establishment's kitchen when she slipped on a slippery foreign substance and fell to the floor. The plaintiff alleges she received severe injuries in the fall.

The defendant is accused of creating a hazard, failing to properly train its employees, failing to warn of the hazard and allowing the hazard to exist when they knew or should have known about it.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, embarrassment, humiliation, medical expenses and lost wages.

Palermo is represented by Anthony L. Livaccari, Jr. on New Orleans-based Livaccari, Villarrubia & Lemmon, LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan, Jr.
