NEW ORLEANS – A Delaware-based company that was sued by a New Orleans based water cooler manufacturer has counter-sued on claims it breached a contract for the purchase of water coolers.
Standard Companies, Inc. and S.I.P. Technologies filed suit against International Business Development and Alpine Coolers in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Sept. 21.
Standard Companies claims it was falsely accused by International Business Development in a civil lawsuit filed earlier this year of breaching a contract in which it would purchase a certain number water coolers. The plaintiff also alleges that equipment it sold to the defendant in the amount of $161,879.26 was not defective as claimed in the defendant's lawsuit.
Standard Companies asserts that it has incurred costs for storing the equipment that was returned from the defendant without authorization.
A declaration is sought by the plaintiff that it owes no liabilities to the defendant and is seeking all attorney's fees, costs and interest be paid for by the defendant.
