BATON ROUGE – A Baton Rouge woman is suing a skating rink after she was allegedly injured in a fall in the bathroom.
Tamika Williams filed suit against RLI Insurance Company, Red Rock Adventure Sports, LLC, doing business as Skate Galaxy in the 19th Judicial Court on Oct. 30.
The plaintiff asserts she was a customer at Skate Galaxy, located at 12828 Jefferson Hwy. on March 30, when she was severely injured in a fall.
Williams claims she was still in her skates in the restroom when she slipped and fell. She states she tried to grab the corner of the sink as she was falling, which resulted in a severe cut to her left hand.
The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the premises in a safe condition, failing to maintain a safe path to the restroom and failing to adequately warn of a known dangerous condition.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical injuries, medical expenses, out-of-pocket expenses, lost wages, lost benefits, scarring and disfigurement and loss of enjoyment of life.
The plaintiff is represented by Darrel J. Papillion of Baton Rouge-based Walters, Papillion, Thomas, Cullens LLC.
The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Wilson Fields.
Case no. 616637.
