Southeastern Louisiana University comes after student for alleged non-payment on loan

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is being sued by the university she formerly attended for alleged non-payment of a student loan.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through Southeastern Louisiana University filed suit against Keyshondra Adams in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Sept. 26.

The plaintiff claims that Adams has not paid on a loan that originated when she was a student at Southeastern Louisiana University. The plaintiff claims that the defendant owes the entire unpaid balance of a loan, including principal, interest, late charges and collection costs.

Damages in the amount of $1,767.80 plus judicial interest and attorney's fees is sought by the plaintiff.

The plaintiffs are represented by Stacey T. Landry of the Louisiana Department of Justice.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
