Craig G. Brewer
NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish law firm is being sued by Camellia Grill Holdings, Inc. for alleged legal malpractice and damages.
Camellia Grill Holdings, Inc. filed a lawsuit against Craig G. Brewer, Staines & Eppling and their insurer in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Aug. 21. The plaintiff claims Brewer, the attorney assigned to them by the firm, failed to properly serve a reconvention demand in conformity with state civil codes. Camellia Grill Holdings avers that the defendants' action constitutes legal malpractice and also made it unable to recover attorney's fees incurred in the legal action resulting in financial damages.
The defendant is also accused of failing to properly supervise the actions of its employee, failing to review pleadings before authorizing filings and failing to ensure compliance with the law.
An unspecified amount is sought for damages found appropriate to compensate the plaintiff for its loss of right to recover attorney's fees.
The plaintiff is represented by Irl R. Silverstein of The Silverstein Law Firm, APLC in Gretna, LA.
This case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
Case no. 2012-08140.
