Home health company sued by former landlord for breach of contract

GRETNA – A home health care company is being sued by its former landlord for allegedly breaching a lease.

Hero Lands filed suit against Comprehensive Nursing and Home Health Services, Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 12. Hero Lands claims in 2011 it bought the building that had been occupied by Comprehensive Nursing and Home Health Services since 2009 at a rental fee of $3,500 per month.

The plaintiff alleges that Renee Woods, on behalf of the defendant, executed a lease agreement in May 2011 and then in July 2012 notified the plaintiff that it intended on terminating the lease prior to the end of the lease agreement because Woods did not have the authority to execute the agreement.

Hero Lands asserts that Comprehensive Nursing and Home Health Services moved out of the property in July 2012 and has refused to remit any rent payment since.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for rental payments for the remaining 10 months of the lease.

is represented by Belle Chasse-based attorney Francis J. Lobrano.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robert A. Pitre.

Case no. 720-044.
