BATON ROUGE – A St. Tammany Parish couple is suing a Baton Rouge mall in an alleged slip and fall incident.
Jamie and Russell Federico filed suit against The Mall of Louisiana, GGP-Mall of Louisiana Holding, LLC and Xencom Facility Management, LLC in the 19th Judicial Court on Nov. 16.
Jamie Federico claims he entered the Mall of Louisiana at 6401 Bluebonnet Blvd. in Baton Rouge on May 17. He asserts he was instructed through signs to walk in a designated area that was purported to be safe, but that he slipped and fell on the floor due to a slippery substance..
The defendant is accused of failing to properly supervise and instruct its employees, failing to give warnings of the dangerous conditions, failing to properly inspect and maintain the area, failing to properly inspect and maintain the area and failing to place wet floor signs in the appropriate area.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, scarring, disfigurement and loss of consortium.
The plaintiffs are represented by Chase T. Villeret of The Wanko Law Firm, LLC in Covington.
The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Todd Hernandez.
