NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman is suing a local elevation company for damages after allegedly sustaining bodily injuries as a result of substandard work done on her home by the contractors.
Rosella Joseph filed a lawsuit against The Shoring Company, LLC, The Shoring Company of Louisiana, LLC, and Brian J. Rickel Individually and as the owner/manager of The Shoring Company, LLC, and Richard J. Stokes, individually and as the owner/manager of Stokes Services, LLC and their insurers.
Joseph claims that following the defendant's elevation work on her Bullard Avenue home while traversing the steps of her home the bricks of the steps started shifting and fell inward causing her to fall and strike her buttocks, lower back, and right leg, knee and ankle resulting in permanent bodily injury.
The defendants are accused of performing negligent, faulty, and substandard work, failing to construct and secure the steps in a safe condition, failing to complete work contracts, failing to perform work in a workmanlike manner, and inadequate maintenance and operational procedures.
An unspecified amount is sought for medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, aggravation and inconvenience, emotional distress and loss of enjoyment of life.
The plaintiff is represented by New Orleans-based attorney John J. Finckbeiner, Jr.
This case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
