Food distributor alleges restaurant chain did not pay for goods

GRETNA – A food distributor is suing three Jefferson Parish restaurants for alleged non-payment of food items.

Riverside Food Distributors, LLC and F. Christiana & Co. filed suit against Steakburger, Inc. The Big R Burger, LLC and Rubys Steakburger, LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 29.

Riverside Food Distributors claims it entered into an agreement to provide wholesale food items to the defendants and did so in April and May of 2012. The plaintiff alleges it was never paid for the food items delivered during those months to the defendants and are owed $3,124.78.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $3,124.78 plus 18 percent interest and attorney’s fees are sought for non-payment.

Riverside Food Distributors is represented by Anthony J. Milazzo, Jr. of Metairie-based Hebbler & Giordano, LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan.
