GRETNA – A St. Bernard Parish woman is suing a local cosmetics company for severe injuries she claims to have received while under the care of one of its employees.

Christine Lee filed suit against Softouch Permanent Makeup, LLC and its insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 8. Lee claims that she had several procedures performed at Softouch Permanent Makeup, LLC by an employee thought to be named Meme. The plaintiff alleges that after the procedures she felt a burning sensation that resulted in painful and severe injuries. She also claims permanent scarring to her arms and legs that necessitated immediate medical attention.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly instruct and train personnel on proper operation of equipment, failing to provide an operation manual to personnel in relation to equipment, failing to provide safety meetings with personnel to review proper operation of equipment, failing to perform routine maintenance and inspection of equipment, failing to post proper safety warnings in relation to operation of equipment in question, failing to supervise and failing to act as a reasonable and prudent person.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical bills, physical pain and suffering, permanent scarring, mental anguish, inconvenience, aggravation and out-of-pocket expenses.

Lee is represented by Cullen A. Tonry of the Chalmette-based Tonry Law Firm, LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.

Case no. 720-918.
