GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman who was hit by a car that crashed through a building is suing.

Kimberly Zar filed suit against 700 Terry Parkway LLC, Colony Insurance Company and State Farm Automobile Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 6.

Zar claims she was a patron at 700 Terry Parkway when a vehicle crashed through the building and struck her. The plaintiff alleges she suffered serious and painful injuries as well as economic damages in the incident.

The defendant building owner is accused of being responsible for damages to the plaintiff because it had general liability insurance and medical payment insurance in place at the time of the incident. In addition, the plaintiff claims her auto insurer State Farm Automobile Insurance Company should be liable for damage claims under her uninsured motorist policy.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, permanent personal damage, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and economic damages.

Zar is represented by attorney Pierre F. Gaudin of Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Ross P. LaDart.

Case no. 722-669.
