Peace Lake Towers sued for alleged damages

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing a retirement home after she allegedly slipped and fell on its premises.

Violet Joycelynn Williams filed a lawsuit against Peace Lake Towers Inc. and their insurer in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Dec. 20.

Williams alleges that while taking her trash to the dumpster at the defendant’s facility, she slipped and fell sustaining severe and disabling injuries to her muscles, tendons, ligaments and soft tissues of the right knee and thighs.

The defendant is accused of failing to keep aisles, passageways and floors in a clean and safe condition and failing to inspect property for hazards.

An unspecified amount is sought for all damages.

The plaintiff is represented by Attorney Rosalyn Ruffin-Duley.

This case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
