GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing a local mall for injuries she claims to have received in a fall over a parking stop in the premise's parking garage.

Ann Scannavino filed suit against Greater Lakeside Corporation, Lakeside Mall, Broadwall Management Corporation and U.S. Specialty Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 30.

Scannavino claims she was walking in the parking garage of Lakeside Mall at 3301 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie when she fell over a parking barricade. The plaintiff alleges she was severely injured in the fall.

The defendant is accused of allowing a defect to exist on its property and not exercising reasonable care in allowing the danger to exist.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for transportation expenses, medical expenses, loss of insurability, multiple physical injuries, physical pain and suffering and mental anguish.

Scannavino is represented by attorney Randall J. Meyer of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.

Case no. 723-442.
