Landlord sues industrial equipment supply company for non-payment of rent

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A commercial real estate owner is suing one of its former tenants for allegedly breaching a rental agreement.

Wm. B. Coleman Co. Inc. filed suit against Industrial Products Limited LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 31.

Wm. B. Coleman Co. Inc. claims Industrial Products Limited LLC signed a three-year rental agreement on March 1, 2009 to rent 5632 Salmen St. in Harahan wherein it would pay $4,125 a month for the first year, $4,312 per month in the second year and $4,500 per month in the third year.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant is currently indebted in the amount of $26,354.52 for rent, $8,713.80 in interest, $2,635.45 in late charges, $1,228.08 in prorated property tax and $674.17 in insurance.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $39,606.02 are sought in addition to attorney’s fees and legal costs.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robert A. Pitre Jr.
