NEW ORLEANS – A local physical therapy practice is being sued after a client was allegedly injured during the course of a therapy session.
Jean Blais, and husband Robert, filed a lawsuit against Xtreme Physical Therapy LLC and Brian Simpson in the Orleans Parish Central District Court.
The plaintiffs allege that during a therapy session administered by defendants for the recovery process following Jean Blais’s rotator cuff surgery, Blais experienced extreme pain and felt something "pop." The popping sound was medically identified as the re-tear of her rotator cuff, the suit claims.
The defendant is accused of negligence, disregarding the plaintiff’s complaints of pain during physical therapy, failing to properly evaluate the plaintiff’s physical condition to appropriately determine the proper physical therapy and causing serious personal injury.
An unspecified amount is sought for pain and suffering, medical expenses, economic loss, loss of enjoyment of life and loss of consortium claim.
