GRETNA – A national insurance company and a Jefferson Parish woman are suing a contractor for allegedly accidentally spray painting her car.

Allstate Fire and Casualty Insurance Company and Avona Dorsey filed suit against Hames Contracting Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court.

Allstate and Dorsey claim that on April 24, 2012 her car was parked outside her place of work when Hames Contracting was painting a nearby bridge. The plaintiffs allege that the defendant over-sprayed the paint and it landed on her car damaging its paint job.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly tarp the area, failing to contain the area and failing to exercise reasonable care and caution.

Damages in the amount of $1,504.26 are sought by the plaintiffs for property damage and rental expenses.

The plaintiffs are represented by attorney Kevin J. Koenig of Lake Charles.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.

Case no. 724-307.
