GRETNA – Two Jefferson Parish residents are suing the local outlet of a national restaurant chain for allegedly serving spoiled fish.

Daniell Bailey and Tina Chopin filed suit against T.G.I. Friday’s, Midland’s Claim Administrators Inc. and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on March. 18.

Bailey and Chopin claim that when they were dining at the T.G.I. Friday’s located 1201 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey they were served spoiled salmon and later became ill. The plaintiffs allege they visited a local hospital where they were treated for their symptoms.

and Chopin assert that they later tried to contact the restaurant chain’s district manager and upon being unable to get in contact they retained counsel to try and settle their claim with the restaurant.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly prepare and maintain its products, failing to properly cook its products, failing to protect its consumers, negligence in selling the salmon, failing to see what should have been seen, failing to protect its customers and failing to keep a wholesome food item.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of life’s pleasures, disabilities and miscellaneous expenses.

Bailey and Chopin are represented by attorney Letita Parker-Davis of Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
