BATON ROUGE – The owners of a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 Quad Power Wagon 4 Door that exploded and caused substantial fire damage are suing the manufacturer and mechanics responsible for the vehicle.
Oscar and Daisy Castaneda filed a lawsuit against Chrysler Group LLC and Salsbury’s Dodge City LLC in the 19th Judicial District Court.
Castaneda claims that it was the faulty workmanship and manufacturing of the defendants that caused the explosion of his truck and subsequently caused Castaneda's physical and financial injury. Oscar was locked in the truck for a substantial period of time when it exploded and suffered severe damage to his forearms and inhaled of large amounts of smoke, the suit claims.
The defendant is accused of faulty workmanship, failing to detect the problem with the plaintiff’s truck, failing to properly repair the truck according to professional standards and falling below the standard of care for mechanics and manufacturers.
An unspecified amount is sought for the plaintiff’s loss of contracting opportunities due to the total loss of his vehicle, mental anguish, pain and suffering and financial loss. Daisy claims of loss of love and affection of her husband.
Plaintiffs are represented by attorney Jonathan Holloway Sr. of Baton Rouge.
