Daycare center sued by contractor who claims he was not paid for renovations

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish contractor is suing a New Orleans daycare center for allegedly not paying him after he completed renovations to its business.

Tommie Johnson filed suit against Keidra Phillips-Burrel, Roy Burrell and Krescent City Kids LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 23.

Johnson claims he was contracted to provide renovation of the Krescent City Kids daycare facility located at 329 Dorgenois St. in New Orleans. The plaintiff alleges the even though Phillips-Burrell repeatedly paid him via checks those checks cold not be cashed later and the defendants ultimately failed to make payments that met the terms of the contract. An unspecified amount in damages is sought for monetary damages.

Johnson is represented by attorney Eugene P. Redmann of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.

Case no. 726-265.
