New Orleans hotel suing local corporation seeking $35K in unpaid services

NEW ORLEANS – An international hotel chain is suing a New Orleans service provider it did not fully pay for rooms rented.

Marriott International Inc. filed suit against Knowledge Masters Inc. in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on May 1.

Marriott claims the defendant originally owed nearly $78,000 for room costs and miscellaneous associated charges, but it only paid just over $35,000 and were credited another $7,200, but failed to pay the remainder of their bill. Marriott asserts it has requested payment from Knowledge Masters to no avail.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $35,237.83 plus attorney’s fees, court costs and legal interest are sought by the plaintiff.

Marriott International is represented by Michael R. Allweiss of New Orleans-based Lowe, Stein, Hoffman, Allweiss & Hauver LLP.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
