GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing a gas station where she claims she fell and broke her ankle.

Monique N. Fisher filed suit against Amber Inc., Elmwood Shell Self-Service and Markel International Company Limited in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 28.

Fisher claims she was walking near a gas pump at the Elmwood Shell Self-Service located at 1141 S. Clearview Parkway in Metairie when she slipped on what she believes to be oil or gas and fell to the pavement. The plaintiff claims she broke her ankle in the fall and still needs medical attention.

The defendant is accused of failing to warn the plaintiff of a dangerous condition, failing to keep the premises properly maintained, creating a trap, improper maintenance, failing to implement policies and procedures for maintenance and clean-up and failing to properly train and supervise employees.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, emotional and mental anguish, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, loss of enjoyment of life and permanent disability.

Fisher is represented by Patrick B. Sanders of the Metairie-based Law Office of John W. Redmann LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
