GRETNA – Two Jefferson Parish women are suing a local fast food restaurant for injuries they claim to have received when an employee of the restaurant allegedly spilled coffee on them.

Ashley Dyer and Sheila Robinson filed suit against CLB Investments LLC, McDonald’s, Christopher Bardell and Scottsdale Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 3.

Dyer and Robinson claim they ordered coffee in the drive-thru at the McDonald’s at 3013 Loyola Drive in Kenner and that when the restaurant employee was passing the coffee through the window the top came off and it spilled on them. The plaintiffs allege that both of them suffered severe and traumatic injuries in the incident.

The defendant is accused of deploying improperly trained and unsupervised workers, failing to follow established company safety procedures, failing to maintain and enforce adequate safety procedures, failing to warn of a hazardous condition and failing to see what should have been seen.

Damages not to exceed $50,000 are sought for medical expenses and pain and suffering.

Dyer and Robinson are represented by attorney Thomas E. Campbell of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

Case no. 727-590.
