GRETNA – A salon is being sued by a woman who claims her breasts were severely burned during a massage.

Leslie Marsh filed suit against H20 Hair Inc., H20 Salon and Spa, Colony Insurance Co. and Andrew Baggett in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 24.

Marsh claims that she went to H20 Salon and Spa to get a massage and that the massage table was equipped with a heater to keep her warm. The plaintiff claims that during the massage the heater got so hot it burned her chest, resulting in permanent scars to her breasts. Marsh asserts she was severely injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to ensure the massage bed was properly heated, failing to monitor the heat of the massage bed, failing to identify the fact that the heated bed was burning the plaintiff, failing to provide for a safe massage and failing to properly treat the plaintiff after the burns.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, scarring, disfigurement, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment.

Marsh is represented by attorney Lillie E. Joyce of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.

Case no. 728-258.
