GRETNA – One of the founders of an incorporated car dealership and his son are suing the business, claiming it owes them hundreds of thousands of dollars.
George J. Marshall Jr. and George J. Marshall III filed suit against Marshall Bros. LLC, formerly Marshall Bros. Lincoln-Mercury Inc., in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 27.
Marshall Jr. claims he loaned $364,558.53 to Marshall Bros. LLC and that Marshall III loaned them $407,656, but the auto dealer has insufficient assets to repay the funds. The plaintiffs allege they made a written demand for the loans on April 30 and but have yet to received any repayment.
George J. Marshall Jr. founded the business in 1970 with his brother Raymond Marshall and the two later incorporated the business which is currently not in good standing with the Louisiana Secretary of State's Office because the company failed to file a report in a timely manner.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $772,214.53 is sought by the plaintiffs.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robert A. Pitre Jr.
