Construction company sues customer over alleged non-payment

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A New Orleans construction company is suing one of its customers for allegedly not paying for work completed on a home.

Shadday Construction & Elevation Inc. filed suit against Elliose Allen in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 30.

Shadday Construction & Elevation Inc. claims it entered into a contract with Allen to elevate her home located at 3740 Red Cedar Lane in Harvey. The plaintiff alleges that it allowed Allen to pay for work for a total of $130,000, but she still owes $30,000. The plaintiff asserts that it has completed all work under the contract.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $30,000 is sought by the plaintiffs plus interest and attorney’s fees.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schelgel.
