GRETNA – A corporate retailer is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured when a ping pong table fell on her at one of its local stores.
Kelley Lindholm filed suit against Sears, Roebuck and Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 12.
Lindholm claims that on Sept. 25 she visited the Sears located at 4400 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie where she was shopping for a ping pong table. The plaintiff alleges that as she was examining a ping pong table that was on display it fell and struck her. Lindholm asserts she received serious injuries in the incident.
The defendant is accused of failing to adequately warn plaintiff of the dangerous condition, failing to properly warn of the danger, failing to meet general standard of care, failing to exercise reasonable care to remedy a dangerous condition and failing to properly post signage warning of possible dangers associated with ping pong tables.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, emotional pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, loss of consortium, permanent physical disability, disfigurement, medical expenses, damages for lost income and associated court costs.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Ross P. LaDart.
